The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

He has published in excess of 40 works in total, encompassing a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
